After two months of navel gazing the Tory party have finally chosen their leader! Two months of something duller than a November afternoon, culminating in the Tory party membership voting a winner, or not as the case may be!! As it appears, a significant number of the membership didn’t bother to vote and that a poll suggests that Boris Johnson is still more popular amongst the party membership than the two main protagonists in the run off! We now know, of course, the winner is Liz Truss! The question is, will we be the losers, as yet another one takes the helm of this rudderless ship of a government and can Lizz Truss really save the day???

What a tumultuous week, last week was in the way of politics. Finally, Boris has to concede he’s no longer wanted! But how quick the polished, or no to so polished, videos appeared and the glossy booklets of policy for the contenders competing to replace the deposed leaded! As a bunch of wanabees jostle for the top job whilst resorting to all sorts of tactics to hamstring their opposite numbers, the competition, whilst entertaining, is an ugly display of what Tory politicians will resort too, in trying to land the top job. If ever there was a need for a Simon Cowell to be overseeing the judging, its right now, lest we face the danger of having a PM that’s as dodgy as a ventriloquist on BGT or worse still, a dog act! Naming no names on this one!
A Little About Us
We met back in 2004 as employees of a Real Estate company in London’s East end, although working together briefly we struck up a lasting friendship. We’ve maintained contact ever since and particularly over the last few years, the meet ups over coffee and croissants became evermore regular and lengthy, as neither of us struggle for conversation.
Separated by twenty years, our individual perspective is often vastly different, but where we have diverging opinions, we’re able to disagree, but maintain the intrinsic respect we’ve always had for each other. We’ve wanted to work together again for some considerable time and ‘The Randal Report’ is the culmination; bringing together the spiritual, intellectual and entrepreneurial abilities that define Mel’s character, my creative experience and ability for endless chatter, as I once described myself as being like a vintage wine, easy on the nose, palatable, but if consumed in excess, liable to give you a thumping headache!
